Oscar Letelier is catalogued as one of the most original and versatile multi percussionist and composers today. Born in Chile, Oscar is an accomplished professional musician with over 20 years of experience playing drums and percussion in a great number of ensembles. image bio two Having completed a degree in Event Production and Percussion at the prestigious University of Chile in 2003, he relocated in Sydney, Australia where he completed studies in African Djembe percussion and Latin drum percussion at the highest level in the Sydney Drum School of Jonathan Beament in 2004. From his early years Oscar forged a pioneering path to creating new music and a real space for percussion, working towards quality; respect and healthy relationship between the musician and music venues. He is recognised for been the creator of many live music programs and showcases across Sydney and his collaboration scouting talent for the annual Northern Beaches music Festival. Specialising in hand percussion, Oscar can cover percussion instrument such as Darabuka, Congas, Cajon, Bongos, Berimbau, Trejon, West African Djembe and Dum Dums along with many wonderful percussion effects such as vocal percussion, electronic percussion synthesisers and samplers, both live and in the studio, using overdubs and looping to create densely alternative percussion fabrics.
